      • Energy Communities

The new way to generate, use and manage energy by a community.

Enabling citizens to actively lead the change towards a new, more efficient, honest and democratic energy model

        Promoting the energy transition

      • A new way of generating, using and managing energy by a community, achieving a more decentralized, fair, efficient and democratic energy system where the citizen becomes an active and central part of the change.

      • What is an Energy Community?

The Energy Community is a new figure in the socio-economic value chain of the energy sector and a new concept in the wide range of scenarios of the energy transition.

An Energy Community is a legal entity where citizens, SMEs and local authorities come together, as end users of energy, to cooperate in the generation, distribution of consumption, storage, supply, aggregation of energy from renewable sources or offer energy efficiency and/or demand management service.

      • Benefits of the Energy Community

Energy communities are making progress in building a new, efficient, fair, decentralized and sustainable energy model.

Being part of an energy community offers its members many benefits:

        Take care of the planet

With the generation of energy through renewable sources, CO2 emissions are reduced, a key factor in the fight against climate change.

        Economic savings

Investing together, the initial economic impact is much more affordable for each user as the costs are shared and access to self-production of electricity is democratized, saving up to 30% on the annual energy bill.

        Energy autonomy

Once the installation has been depreciated, the produced energy is free and there is less dependence on the marketing companies.

        Member empowerment

Reinforcement of knowledge of the principles of the energy sector and energy efficiency, and a social bond is established by the community itself offering financial support to its members.

        Community creation

Collaboration between different users, entities or companies in a new participatory and empowered ecosystem.

        Opportunity for everyone

It opens up the possibility of participating to people, companies and entities that alone would not have the capacity to generate energy.

      • How can we help you?

"We saw that the City Council might be interested. He suggested that instead of doing the installation in the houses, we concentrate everything in the municipal building in the middle of the neighborhood, this way we could reduce costs and concentrate the entire installation at the same point. "

        Elena Capdevila

President of the Montolivet Energy Community Association

"The Energy Transition goes far beyond global decarbonisation or the protection of health and the environment. It must be the backbone of a new, more sustainable economy and the empowerment of citizens."
